Filament for 3D Printing

The #tide filament is made from recycled PET. It contains 50% ocean-bound rPET, our original #tide ocean material, and 50% industrial multilayer rPET-G. This recycled filament for 3D printing has been developed in close partnership with Creamelt® at the Institute for Materials Technology and Plastics Processing (IWK), a branch of the University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule für Technik) in Rapperswil, Switzerland. 

Polymer extrusion

The University's professional equipped polymer extrusion line enables the specialists to produce recycled filaments for 3D printing in high precision and Swiss quality. They are available in 2 different colors (clear and transparent pink) and in 2 Diameter sizes: 1.75 Millimeters and 2.85 Millimeters.

Great for interior design

The rPET fifty allows you to design and print durable parts with great chemical and heat resistance made from 100% recycled materials. It is a sustainable alternative to virgin plastic. Its distinctive appearance is great for interior design objects such as lampshades or vases but also useful for all kinds of product prototypes.

Closing the loop

Since its launch in the year 2020, different kinds of application have been shown at international exhibitions, for instance at the Salone del Mobile in Milano, Italy (2022) or the UNEP COP15 in Kunming, China (2021), where our partners Solaris Community presented their Circular Ocean Plastic projects, supported by the United Nations' "Closing the Loop" program.

Solaris Community is connecting the dots between designers, artists and #tide's value chain. Thanks to Solaris' excellent network within the global 3D printing industry, the recycled filament made from #tide ocean material® could be successfully tested by some of the largest and most innovative 3D printing service providers in Europe and North America (Canada and USA). State of the Art 3D printing companies have produced furniture and design prototypes for renowned artists which will go into mass production soon. Karim Rashid's Oceana Collection

With New York City based Karim Rashid, an award-winning designer meets our award-winning tide ocean material. Rashid is one of the most prolific designers of his generation and often referred to as the Prince of Plastic. "Plastic has always been important to me. I saw it a s the lively, energetic material of all materials", he once said. Rashid has succesfully tested and used our recycled filament for 3D printing to create an outstanding furniture collection.

Ocean plastic jewelry

Austrian Designer Julia Bigerl has, together with Johannes Erler, created a collection of jewelry made of #tide's recycled filament for 3D printing. Behind the beauty of those marvels lies the will to raise awareness towards the fashion industry’s negative impact on the environment.

Coral Pulse Light installation

Italian Designer Giulia Ber Tacchini has created an installation, using the recycled filament for 3D printing made from #tide ocean material. Coral Pulse is about the contrast between light and darkness.
